Crucial Conversations presents skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics—at all levels of your organization. By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you’ll begin to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment.

Backed by 30 years of social science, Crucial Conversations skills represent the standard in effective communication and the marker of high-performance individuals and organizations. The course teaches nine powerful skills for working through disagreement to achieve better results.

Giving our leaders skills to effectively and comfortably handle Crucial Conversations has a tremendous positive impact on their ability to create relationships.

Improve engagement, efficiency, equity, and more with the skills taught in Crucial Conversations.

Equity & Inclusion: The central principle is psychological safety. When people have skills to establish and improve psychological safety, all voices and perspectives are included and heard.

Engagement: When people have evidence that their voice matters, they know their role is vital and their contribution critical. Cultures of dialogue foster employee engagement.

Efficiency: Research suggests that each avoided crucial conversation costs the organization an average of $7,500 and more than seven workdays. Open dialogue saves time and money.

Innovation: People are more likely to share novel ideas and challenge the status quo when they have the skills to disagree effectively. Innovation thrives where candid and respectful dialogue exists.

Agility: Staying agile in uncertain situations and environments depends on people who can dialogue openly in the face of stress and change. Communication fosters cooperation.

Quality & Safety: Mistakes don’t happen in secret; they happen in silence. Our dialogue skills give workers the confidence to speak up when they see others make errors or take shortcuts.
